Why this site exists
Every week the same question comes up at home: what are we eating? Thinking up recipes is a headache, and without a plan we end up cooking the same old dishes again and again.
Where the name comes from
Our daughter used to say "no no chicken" whenever she didn't want to eat anything. It became a family joke, and then the name of this site.
How it started
We are a Hong Kong family. Like many homes here, a helper cooks many of our meals. Each week someone has to decide what to make, what to buy and how to explain it, and we kept coming back to the same few dishes.
So we started collecting cooking videos we liked, tried them at home, and kept a list of what worked. This site is that list, tidied up so other families and their helpers can use it too.
What you will find here
A growing list of dishes, each linked to the original creator's video, with our family's rating. A helper view on every dish. Filters to find easy dishes or dishes by ingredient. A new weekly meal plan with a shopping list you can copy and send straight to your helper, in English, Tagalog or Bahasa Indonesia.
What "helper view" means
For every dish we note the effort (easy, medium or weekend project), the time, the equipment, how spicy it is and whether kids will eat it. The helper-friendly tag marks the easiest dishes: one pan or pot, about 35 minutes or less, nothing tricky. It is our estimate, read from the creator's video.
How we work
Some dishes are our own original recipes, written out in full on their page. For everything else, we link out and we don't copy. The recipes belong to their creators, so every dish credits the creator and sends you to the original video for amounts and steps. Our part is the choosing, the helper view, the family rating and the weekly plan.
We are a family, not a restaurant or a cooking school, and we are not affiliated with any of the creators.
